Colors of Resistance features five artists who have solidified their belonging to Palestine through their artforms.

As a strong Palestinian voice and a lifelong experience with resistance, Samia’s art knows no limits. Her story started when her family house was confiscated. Her journey afterwards brought her to confront entirely new concepts of home and belonging.


Maysoon Zayid

New Jersey, USA

Popular for her witty takes on the current situation in Palestine, Maysoon is one of America's first female Muslim comedians and is the first person ever to perform stand-up in Palestine and Jordan. Her continued visits to her hometown give a flavorful, genuine perspective.

Remi Kanazi

The son of Palestinian refugees who fled prior to the establishment of the State of Israel, Remi has found his own way to articulate his and his family’s encounters. His poetry and political commentary have influenced countless activists throughout the world.


Stormtrap Asifeh

Hip Hop Artist

Austrian Palestinian musician Stormtrap/Asifeh has performed around the world. His lyrics deal with themes inspired mainly by his personal experiences in Palestine and his life in the Diaspora.

Z the people grew up in Washington DC before moving back to Palestine. He is a producer and singer of soul, debka, and electronic music and co-founder of the band 47SOUL. He is an active member of the alternative Arab music scene in the Middle East.
